We are looking for funding for orphans to go to school. Want to help???!!!

Richard is always coming across children that need help to attend school. It costs about $25 to send younger kids to school for a year (fees, shoes and uniforms), and $100 for older students. If you would like to help me send these kids to school, please let me know. Tax deductible donations can be made through my church, Calvary Chapel Eastside and sent to me. January is the month for new semesters to begin so they need help now.

July 2011 Team helps Richard build the Shunnamite House

In July 2011 Richard received two teams of people to help him in the ministry. Jodi and her friends (they called themselves the ZamFam) went and helped Richard reach out to the orphans in his community. They brought 200 pairs of shoes to give to orphans and vulnerable children both in Ndola and also in the village outside of Ndola where Richard's mother lives. They also spent time daily for three weeks with the children, singing, playing, and holding Bible lessons and crafts. With Richard's older orphans, they held an outreach in the community, singing songs and preaching the gospel. They also played soccer and held soccer matches with a local orphanage. The ZamFam team also brought things to leave in Richard's ministry house to help Richard house people after they left ---blankets, mattresses, mosquito netting, sheets and pillows. Richard now has several people living with him that help with the ministry.

The other team of people that went to help Richard were my dad and brother. They spent two weeks finishing the installation of plumbing in Richard's house. They ran pipes from the house to the septic tank and put up a water tank for water to run into the house. They also installed a toilet and running water to the bathrooms and kitchen. One other thing they worked on was a front and back porch for the house.

There are many things that are still needed to complete Richard's house for future ministry, and those include plaster on the walls, furniture (especially beds), and ceramic floor tiles. If you are interested in helping to complete Richard's ministry house (the Shunnamite House), please contact me about it. Thank you!

Richard is holding school in the Shunnamite House

Richard has begun a school in his home even though his home is not completed yet. He teaches English to some older students to help them understand their classes at public school, and also to some younger students who are not in school yet so that they won't get too far behind. You can see them in a photo above playing games at his school. He also is teaching women how to sew and be able to support their families in the photo above they are holding baby blankets that they have made. And one other thing he has begun doing is holding soccer games with the balls that the Zamfam team brought this summer. At the soccer games he shares Bible lessons and has led over 50 young people to Christ. Some of these kids were able to attend Bible camp at Teen Missions this past December with funds that we raised for them. You can see them in the photo above as they climb into a car to go to camp.
